Transit Scientific is a development-stage medical device company applying a breakthrough technology (6 patents issued/allowed, and 22 patents pending) to address unmet needs in the cardiovascular and vascular space.  The company is based around a patient-first mentality with safety and clinical efficacy paramount to product success.

The company was founded in 2016 in Park City, Utah with its core team and engineering resources based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Manufacturing and Quality resources are contracted through US-based ISO 13485 vendors.

Transit Scientific is uniquely positioned with many experienced medical device entrepreneurs as active contributors to its success through the board, co-founders, venture partners, advisors, and/or IP contributors.

President & CEO

Greg is a business leader, engineer, and entrepreneur with a broad base of experience in the medical device and life sciences space. He started his career with InCube Labs designing and developing novel medical devices ranging from oral biotherapeutics platforms to transdermal drug delivery systems. More recently, he was the founder of Method Therapeutic Solutions (MTS) and successfully launched a first-of-its-kind data-connected knee rehab device. He secured two issued patents and his efforts, driving the commercialization of the product, led to a successful acquisition by Kinex Medical. He is passionate about creating solutions that improve the quality of care and outcomes for patients.

SHAWN FOJTIK

Co-Founder and Board of Directors

Shawn Fojtik has 100+ combined issued and pending patents and is co-founder of Distal Access, Control Medical, CIRCA Scientific, and others with experience at GE, Boston Scientific, Black & Decker, and Summit Partners/Volcano Capital. His experience includes devices for cardiology, interventional radiology & oncology, electrophysiology, and other procedures. Shawn an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah with a BS from the University of Illinois and a MA from Harvard University.

LAWRENCE KRONICK

Larry Kronick has over 35-years of operational, sales/marketing, and business development experience in the cardiovascular, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, general surgery, and imaging fields. He is the founder of BAC Inc., a consulting company with teams in Miami, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Beijing, that assists medical device and equipment companies expand and develop global sales distribution. He has successfully developed global markets for Control Medical, Distal Access, CIRCA Scientific, CryoCath, CathEffects, Neurologica, and Visionsense. Larry is conversant in Mandarin.

JAMES MCGUCKIN, MD

Board of Directors

Dr. McGuckin is Medical Director of the Philadelphia Vascular Institute and is the Founder and C.E.O. of Vascular Access Centers, which specializes in continued function and preservation of dialysis accesses, high-level peripheral arterial work, limb salvage, and venous disorders, including recanalization of central venous occlusion. Dr. McGuckin is also Co-Founder and Director of Research at Rex Medical, Chairman of the Board of Endoshape, and a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
